Looking to eat healthier?

Three tips to keep you on track

  1. Make one change at a time - Rather than abstaining from all of your unhealthy snacks, commit to limiting them to a day or two a week and slowly decrease your intake. As you have success with these small steps, they will become routine and you can add new goals. (Mayo Clinic)
  2. Keep a food diary - logging what and how much you eat eliminates unconscious eating. Research indicates people that log their food, lost more pounds than people who didn’t (Business Insider). There are a number of apps that can help you. Some of these apps will monitor your nutrient intake as well.
  3. Don’t sweat it if you fall off the wagon - if you indulge in an unhealthy snack or meal, don’t throw the entire day down the drain. Call it what you will…cheat or treat, make it a treat meal and not a cheat day. One meal or snack will not cause you to gain weight; it’s the consistent consumption of these unhealthy foods that will.
